Sing blessings, thanks, and praises!

Divrei-Hayamim Alef [Hebrew for 1Chronicles] 29:9-13,  “The people were filled with joy, because they had given willingly – wholeheartedly they had given willingly to Adonai [this is Hebrew for LORD, but “YHWH” should be used here]; and David the king too was completely filled with joy, as he blessed Adonai before the entire community: “Blessed be you, Adonai, the ELOHIM [Hebrew for GOD] of Isra’el our father, forever and ever. Yours, Adonai, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory and the majesty; for everything in heaven and on earth is yours. The kingdom is yours, Adonai; and you are exalted as head over all. Riches and honor come from you, you rule everything, in your hand is power and strength, you have the capacity to make great and to give strength to all. Therefore, our Elohim, we thank you and praise your glorious name.”. These verses are a wonderful example of how to give our YHWH ELOHIM [LORD GOD] the blessings, thanks, and praise HE desires from us. [See my blog for details of “YHWH”]   http://glclifestyling.com/2012/01/17/hello-world/

HE does so much for us: our lives are from HIM, the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the roof over our heads, the money we have, everything is from HIM. In fact, when we give offerings to churches [the law for tithing stopped with the destruction of the 2nd Temple] and money to the poor we are giving back what is HIS to begin with. David recognized this in these verses. Divrei-Hayamim Alef 29:14/16, “But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to give so willingly in this way? For all things come from you, so that we have given you what is already yours. Adonai our Elohim, All these supplies that we have prepared in order to build you a house for your holy name come from your own hand, all of it is already yours.”. Give HIM back something which HE has not given you, give HIM the fruit of your lips in worship.

The Bible says that David was a man after our YHWH ELOHIM’S own heart [Acts 13:22/Tehillim – Psalms – 89:20-21/Sh’mu’el Alef – 1 Samuel – 13:14]. I can certainly see why from the verses above. In Divrei-Hayamim Alef 23:30, the descendants of the Levi were to stand and sing thanks and praises to YHWH every morning and evening. I have been practicing singing Tehillim, praise and thanks in my own words, and even prayer to HIM. The Hebrew way of worship involves singing to HIM and even dancing. It is a different way than the way of worship of people in the west [USA]. Sh’mu’el Bet [2 Samuel] 6:14. “Then David danced and spun around with abandon before Adonai…”. Read Tehillim 95, 96, 98, 101 and especially 100 because they praise, bless, and thank HIM.

So try something that our YHWH ELOHIM says HE loves, sing blessings and praises and thanks to HIM. Sing Tehillim to HIM, play a musical instrument, dance for HIM! Tehillim 150, “Praise EL [GOD] in HIS holy place! Praise HIM in the heavenly dome of HIS power! Praise HIM for HIS mighty deeds! Praise HIM for HIS surpassing greatness! Praise HIM with a blast on the shofar! Praise HIM with lute and lyre! Praise HIM with tambourines and dancing! Praise HIM with flutes and strings! Praise HIM with clanging cymbals! Praise HIM with loud crashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise YHWH!”.

This may be a different way of worship than what you are used to, but through it I believe you will find a richer experience of worshiping HIM! Hallelu-jah literally means “praise YAH”! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqFlqHvRy4I           http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKjForhzzpU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R90m46X1DDM&feature=endscreen
