Do many translations of YHWH’S [the LORD’S] Prayer from Matthew 6 mock GOD [ELOHIM]?

Below is YHWH’S [the LORD’S] Prayer from a translation of the Bible from the Aramaic Peshitta text. Aramaic is a sister language to the Hebrew and it is the language YAHSHUA [JESUS/JOSHUA/IMMANUEL] spoke while HE lived here on Earth in the Flesh. Reading this translation has been an interesting study because when comparing it to other translations of the Bible, patterns are revealed of hiding pagan ways, hiding demonic possession, and mocking ELOHIM which other translations, because of their word choices, hide.

ELOHIM is the Hebrew word for GOD. This writer believes ELOHIM to be our ABBA [FATHER] in Heaven, HIS SON YAHSHUA aka JESUS, and HIS HOLY SPIRIT [SET-APART BREATH]. More will be written in regards to other revelations from this translation in another study.

In other Bible translations, the line which usually says, “and lead us not into temptation” is instead written in this one as, “and do not let us enter into temptation”. Is there a difference in what is being said here?

Others have told this writer they:

1. did not believe the words used to be a problem [This writer believes the words to be a problem because by the very act of asking for something not to happen such as, “lead us not into temptation”, one is implying that the act could be done because one is asking for it not to happen. With the word choices of the following, “do not let us enter into temptation”, one is asking for something not to occur. Ask an English major about this.]

2. did not believe it would be an issue with GOD because HE knows their hearts [While the Bible is clear that ELOHIM/GOD does know peoples’ hearts the question really is, “do people know HIS?” ! HE is very clear in verses such as Jeremiah – Yirmeyahu – 4:19-22, that HIS Heart is being afflicted because of HIS stupid foolish children who do not know HIM. YAHSHUA/JESUS also said in John – Yochanan – 2:24, that because HE knew people HE did not entrust HIMSELF to them. This is a relationship that is supposed to be two sided! Examine one’s thoughts, words, and deeds and see if it is truly a relationship with two parties involved or just one sided lip service with no mind, heart, or strength involved because all are supposed to love HIM above all and with all as stated in Luke 10:27, Mark 12:30, and other verses!]

3. never prayed this prayer because this line bothered them. [See bracketed [ ] explanations from first two comments.]

By examining the above, who has a better relationship going on?

In Matthew [Mattityahu] 4, YAHSHUA/JESUS went into the wilderness to be tempted by satan. YAHSHUA/JESUS told satan, “it is written again, thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy GOD” or in other versions “do not put the LORD your GOD to the test”. James [Ya’akov – the name should be Jacob. King James changed it.] 1:13-14 says it pretty clearly, “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither does he tempt any man; but every man is tempted by his own lust; he covets and is enticed”. Other verses also clearly say that satan is the tempter not GOD/ELOHIM. So, again, why do many pray this line, “and lead us not into temptation”, which implies what in James says GOD/ELOHIM is not about?

The whole prayer in this translation reads:

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven so on earth.

Give us bread for our needs from day to day.

And forgive us our offenses, as we have forgiven our offenders.

[The above line is important. Note that our offenses are forgiven us in the same way we forgive those who offend us! It is important to forgive wholeheartedly and fully. The Bible says that if we do not forgive then ELOHIM does not forgive us! Do unto others as you would have done unto you!]

And do not let us enter into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory for ever and ever. Amen.”

Pray this in YAHSHUA HA’MASHIAC YHWH’S/JESUS CHRIST the LORD’S NAME. Read John [Yochanan] 14: 13-14, 15:16, 16:23-26, Romans 8:34, and Acts 7:56.

A relationship with ELOHIM/GOD is not just a one-way street with one asking all the time for what one wants. Treat HIM how a friend, a very best friend who is comforting, should be treated because HE is a FRIEND and COMFORTER. Treat HIM how a child should treat their father, obey HIM, because HE is FATHER to all HE created. Reverence HIM, do what HE commands/asks for because HE is ELOHIM/GOD and when YAHSHUA/JESUS returns, HE will be KING and all will be ruled by HIM!

Even if one’s heart is not in it at first, keep putting ELOHIM/GOD first and learn to love YHWH ELOHIM [the LORD GOD] with all as stated above. One day, realization of how much one does love ELOHIM/GOD, how dear HE is, and how dependent one is on HIM might just be quite a surprise! Notice how HE blesses and protects and opens the heart, uncircumcises it, so that if one truly is seeking these things one learns to love what HE loves and hate what HE hates!

The translation referred to above, from the Aramaic of the Peshitta, is called “The Holy Bible from the Ancient Eastern Text”. The translation was by George Lamsa. It was written in the early 1900’s, around 1930, and is still being produced. It is easier to read than many translations and there is interesting information in the preface and introduction concerning the lost tribes of Israel; the Gospels in Aramaic; the translators believing the curses ELOHIM/GOD wrote about in Deuteronomy, Proverbs, and Revelation if HIS words were added to or taken away; and translation errors in the King James Version compared to the Peshitta. On the back cover they made note about the problem with the above line. This writer is very glad they did!

One caution, this writer almost ignored this translation after finding a Christian website that stated it was tainted because George Lamsa had been involved in the New Age. The site even gave verses from Scripture and said they were from this translation. The verses quoted showed some major theological problems. Since this translation was already in hand, after examining what this website said and looking up the verses given, this writer found that this site gave incorrect information. Everyone should be careful with what is said on the internet. If it is true or false, investigation will bear it out. Include lifting it up to ELOHIM/GOD in prayer and see what HE reveals. Unfortunately, Lamsa did fall to the New Age. It looked like it happened later in his life. When this translation was done he was about 30 years old. Apparently, the enemy went after him greatly and he fell. This translation is not perfect, no translation is perfect, but it is very worth looking into because of the errors of other translations it reveals.

ELOHIM takes care of what HE creates, HE bears and carries and rescues and saves! No others are like HIM!!! This is from Isaiah [Yeshayahu] 46. Thank, praise, and bless HIS NAME [like David did in the Psalms – Tehillim] for everything HE does and gives and tell HIM frequently how much HE is loved! Make it a point to love HIM for who HE is not who one wants HIM to be! Ask what one needs to do and can do for HIM and do this out of love! May as many as possible be blessed to seek after and learn to love and obey only the TRUTH in this world of great deception! AMEN!!!
