You would think it would be an easy question to answer. Yet, who gets honored on the day many celebrate as the day JESUS/YESHUA’YAH was born? If we were to ask HIM what HE wanted for HIS birthday, HE would likely point us to Scripture:
Deuteronomy/D’varim 15: 10 You shall give to him freely, and your heart shall not be grudging when you give to him, because for this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you undertake. 11 For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’
Psalm/Tehillim 112:9 He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn is exalted in honor.
Proverbs/Mishlei 14:21 Whoever despises his neighbor is a sinner, but blessed is he who is generous to the poor.
Isaiah/Yesha’Yahu 58:7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?
Ezekiel/Yechezk’El 16:49 Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy.
Matthew/Mattityahu 25:37- 40 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
